Along with growth in economy, there is a rise in sports
consciousness and enthusiasm among youth in India. Besides
Hockey, the official national sport, Cricket has become
a very popular game in India. Increasingly, Indians are
making a mark in the international arena in other sporting
fields. After the IX Asian Games in New Delhi in 1982, the
capital city now boasts of some very modern sports facilities.
With the introduction of new equipment and techniques of
coaching and training, India is destined to show a marked
improvement in various new disciplines of sports including
Korfball.
